1st part- My dad and I are running through a house. Only it's strange, because the path is so obstructed; there are plants and pieces of wood with nails sticking out in the way, and it's really hard to get through. I think we're running away from something or someone, but I'm not entirely sure. Once we get to the end, we both sigh of relief--until we somehow realize we need to go back for some reason. But we don't want to go through all that again, so we're figuring out another way to go back that doesn't involve going back exactly the way we came. So we step out into the yard and I'm thinking about taking a bicycle or something with wheels, and going off the roof back to where we started (like in Pee Wee's Big Adventure!). Then somehow we go to the side of the house and there is a duck family there. So we need to make way for them so they can get by us (they were cute).
2nd part- My cousin, Miriam, and I are at a concert or performance of some sort, but it's not very good. Whoever is performing keeps leaving or something, so half the time there's no one on stage. Then suddenly Miriam and I are on the stage and Miriam is either singing or reciting a poem. The crowd has mixed feelings: they're either booing or cheering. I'm on her right. I'm just standing there awkwardly. Then I kind of turn to the left towards my cousin and suddenly we're waltzing all around the stage. She's doing really well (mostly because she's leading...also she's a dancer) and I'm stumbling everywhere. Then some unmemorable stuff happens, and then I'm one of a group of hip-hop dancers on stage. I don't know what I'm doing (I don't think any of us do) but I make up things as I go along. Again, the crowd is a mix of boo's and cheers.
That's all I remember!
Meaning- Getting through obstacles probably symbolizes a tough problem I went/am going through. Since we got to the end though, it either means the problem is over or it's going to resolve itself soon. I do not know for sure what ducks represent, but the first thing I think about when I see them is friendship, because when I was younger I would go and feed them sometimes at a pond a little ways from my dad's house. Maybe they represent friendship and kindness and encouragement along the way of a sticky situation.
I have a fear of public speaking. We are doing projects in AP Language and Composition and we have to talk a LOT. Since it has just started, the part of the dream where my cousin and I are performing may be saying that everything will go fine. If someone else in my family can do it, so can I. Since my cousin and I are very close, the dream gave me a familiar face to work with. The mix of booing and cheering mean that everyone has a different opinion. The boos represent fear. The cheers are confident. Everyone has a different felling for everything.
(Sorta like this I guess...same colors)
